Yesterday we had so much fun hanging out with the family. And the best part? J was feeling so much better. I’m so glad he got the second steroid shot because it really helped the croup settle down. He even ate a whole pancake and some yogurt yesterday morning.
We headed about an hour north after my short run yesterday to see my niece get baptized. The 8th birthday is a special one in our belief because it’s the age of accountability and you can choose to be baptized. My niece chose to be baptized and it was so fun to be a part of her special day.
My sister made imitation Cafe Rio after for lunch. It tasted just like it, yum!
Sunday Setup
Alright it’s time to go over my last week goals and set some new ones.
Last week I wanted to: have a better speed session, do 2 Jillian Michael DVD’s, and not watch TV until J’s nap at 2pm.
I had a great speed session totally 7 miles. I wanted to get 5 repeats in, and I did! Here are my splits if you’re interested: 1 mile warm up, 1 mile cool down and .5 mile sprints followed by .5 mile cool downs.
3:56, 4:00, 3:50, 4:00, 4:00
I did in fact do 2 JM workouts, but they were the same DVD. Not sure if that counts, but I’ll take it.
I totally failed at the 2pm TV watching, J was sick so we pretty much snuggled and watched all the Dora you can imagine.
New Goals Week Feb. 3-9th
1.I want to re-try not watching TV until 2pm now that J is feeling better.
2. Do weight training 3 times this week. I really slacked off in that area last week, so time to bring it back!
3. Find a new book to read for this month.
What are your goals?
Any book suggestions?
What did you do this weekend? Have any Superbowl plans? I’m going to my sisters, I’m in charge of the little Smokey’s and queso dip!

Aww i’m so glad he’s better! Just a little cutie, i love babies!!
Love the less watching tv goal! Also, i’m trying to definitely stay on top of strength/core work!
That’s a great goal, I’m hoping to put a lot of effort in and hopefully see results.
I love beginning of the month posts where everyone shares their goals, so inspiring! Have you read the book, The Noticer? It is my absolute favorite. Andy Andrews is the author
Thanks, I’m going to look that book up!
I’m glad you had fun with your family and that J is feeling better. I love tv, I definitely have to make rules for myself to not turn it on! Right now school is seriously getting in the way of my tv time though!
At least you have the control to put school first haha How much longer do you have in school? What’s your major?
awww so glad he is feeling better and ate that whole pancake! I just read Gone Girl, which I thought was interesting – it had some plot twists I was not expecting!
Thanks Katie! I remember wanting to get that book awhile ago, thanks for reminding me! I think that’s the book I’m going to get.
