Running Questionare

Saturday-3 miles,9:20pace     total for the week: 30 miles

Running Questionare I thought it would be fun to answer some questions, I got the idea from Skinny runner

why did you start running?

I’ve always ran, but I randomly signed up for a 10k my junior year of college and had never ran 6 miles in my life. Then, 2.5 years later after the birth of Jackson(my first baby) I decided to run a half. I’ve been obsessed ever since.

I ran in college with my roommate/best friend Amanda. We were weird. . .

I ran in college with my roommate/best friend Amanda. This particular day, was my bday, it was from an “Office” episode, I know I’m nerd.

what was your favorite running moment

My favorite running moment was running 10 miles with Whitney through Zion’s National Park. It was beautiful, I had a buddy to run with, and we made it work even though we were camping and up all night with our boys.

what shoes do you run in

I run in Nike Lunarglide 3’s. I love the Lunarglide model, and I like to run in Nike because I have a Nike plus training. band.

favorite and least favorite distance to run

My favorite distance is the half, but I’ve never ran more than that, so who knows! I don’t have a least favorite distance, yet.

what is your favorite running accessory?

To be completely honest? I really love my running socks. They are the perfect thickness and I love the colors haha. I also love my Nike plus training band in the summer when I’m running outside.

I got them from Costco, pack of 6 for $12

do you have a running partner?

Well, when I run on the treadmill J is often with me. Does that count? When it’s nice enough outside my friend Lindsey runs with me.

outdoor or indoor running?

Outdoor during the summer, indoor unfortunately this winter=(

what is your favorite time of day to run?

I love running in the morning before I get ready for the day. It helps me set my mood for the day and have some ‘me time’ so the rest of the day can be dedicated to my family.

what races have you run?

You can check them out on my Race Page=)

other exercises you love?

I love arm workout and ab workouts. I usually follow some Jillian Michael’s DVD or my Nike Training App.

what is the hottest or coldest weather you’ve ever ran in?

The hottest run was the Porter Rockwell Half in August of last year, in the high 80’s. My coldest was the Crazy Course 5k, it was a snowy blizzard!

are you currently training for something?

I’ve been looking at a couple halfs in March and June, and a 5k sometime soon. I’ve just been staying trained to do at least a half so when I decide to sign up I’ll be ready.

why did you start a blog?

I started a family blog so my mom could see pictures of us. She lives in WA and doesn’t have a FB but likes to follow my blog. Then I started a running blog because I love to read other running blogs and wanted a place that I could connect with other people that have similar hobbies.(and to still update my mom, hi mom!)

running advice for new runners?

I don’t know that I’m qualified to give advice because I still feel like a new runner. I would say finding the right shoes for you is key. Don’t give up if it’s really hard. I could barely run a mile after I had Jackson, never give up.

I wanna know some of your answers to these questions. What advice do you have for new runners?

About Sugar Plum Runner

Welcome to the Sugar Plum Runner! I grew up in WA state, but currently reside in UT with my husband Josh, son Jackson, and 2 daughters Lily and Claire. I love running, but I have never been so inspired to run, race, and blog about it since 4 years ago after I had Jackson. I grew up playing soccer and cheered in high school. My favorite part of both sports(and yes I consider cheer leading a sport) was the conditioning. I found myself running after practice was over on my own. That's when I realized that running may be the sport I really loved.
