Wednesday- 3 miles on the treadmill + 8 min abs + arm definer workout
I started the run with a dynamic stretching video to warm up my muscles. I’m hoping by doing that I can prevent future injuries. After the 3 mile run I did this 8 min ab video. It has ridiculous music, but it hurts so good.
I also did 2 rounds of these arm workouts with 8lb weights.
Unfortunately, my leg soreness has returned. I think it might have something to do with soccer? I only play one soccer game a week, but I’m not sure what else could be doing it. I’m pretty bummed=(

Yesterday morning J and I headed outside in our PJ’s to enjoy the fresh air. It’s so nice in the morning because it’s not super hot just yet. He found a rollie pollie bug for the first time and wanted to watch it’s every move.
Later in the day we met up with one of Josh’s really good friend all growing up. They live in Georgia and we’re in UT so we haven’t seen them since we got married( 3 years ago). It was so fun to chat and J found a new friend.

I call those bugs potato bugs. Why? I have no idea, but that seems to be what everyone calls them around here. That NTC workout is crazy! I was going to try it the other day, but chickened out.

I love pro compression! I do a lot of strength work at home (arms and abs) along with YOGA and that has been helping me stay injury free. Also dynamic stretching is wonderful! Right before our long runs on the weekends, myself and the other coaches lead our group through a short dynamic stretching session. We do butt kicks, lunges, side shuffles and etc. Those are very effective!
That makes me feel so good to know you do those stretches too! I pretty much look to you for a lot of my advice on running, you always run so smart.

I love to weight lift (helps prevent further injury and also strengthens your body), kickbox, cycle and I just started to try swimming 🙂
I love that your swimming! I’ve been doing some too since my husband is training for a spring triathlon.
It is a TOUGH workout!
Yoga is my favorite cross training but I love weights and spinning too 🙂
